¡Me encanta Mozart! ¡Y Mozart tocado en vivo es un regalo! ¡Y ver danza con música en vivo, un regalazo! Mozart Dances fue la interpretación de Mark Morris de la música de Mozart en movimiento. «Una nota, un paso». Con la Orquesta Titular del Teatro Real, y los pianistas (por cierto, casados) Emanuel Ax y Yoko Nozaki.
La danza americana, en general y sin ánimo de criticar, es menos sofisticada que la europea, así que me acerqué al Mark Morris Dance Group con la esperanza de que «no fueran muy Siete novias para siete hermanos». Ya conocía a la compañía, desde que hace más de 20 años los vi por primera vez. Por entonces, Morris era un enfant terrible, y recuerdo que me encantó, pero entonces yo era más simplona...
Así que fui ahora, algo recelosa, y me gustó mucho. Me ha impresionado la interacción de los bailarines. Cómo se apoyaban y ayudaban mutuamente en lo coreográfico (¿o es coréutico la palabra?). Me encantó cómo entraban y salían del escenario, y cómo creaban y rompían formaciones. El trabajo en círculo, que normalmente desprecio como recurso, fue extraordinario (en la pieza Double, Sonata para dos pianos en re mayor, K 448). No faltaron algunos momentos algo aburridos, sobre todo al principio de las piezas. Pero la música era tan maravillosa que no importaba.
¡Fue tan bonito y visual, tan tierno y tan libre de complicaciones! Fue un simple: Señoras y señores, siéntense y disfruten del espectáculo!
I love Mozart! To listen to Mozart played by a live orchestra is a treat. And to watch dancing accompanied by a live orchestra is a luxury! Mozart Dances is Mark Morris's interpretation of Mozart's music into movement. A note, a step! The orchesta was the resident orchestra of El Teatro Real accompanied by the pianists (married to each other, BTW) Emanuel Ax and Yoko Nozaki.
I'm not being critical but I generally find American Dance much less sophisticated than its European counterpart. I went to see Mark Morris Dance Group hoping it wasn't going to be too Seven Brides for Seven Brother-ish. I first saw the company more than twenty years ago, when Morris was quite the enfant terrible. I thought it wonderful then but my tastes were also less sophisticated more than twenty years ago.
So this time I went with misgivings but it was lovely. I loved the way the dancers, choreographically, interacted with each other, how they supported each other. I loved how they continually entered and left the stage, how the formations formed and flowed. I usually dislike a circle as a resource but the things Morris did with his was superb (the dance Double, Sonata para dos pianos en Re mayor, K,448). Yes, there were a few boring moments, especially the beginning of each dance but it didn't matter, the music was so wonderful,
It was so pretty and gentle and visual and uncomplicated. It was a Ladies and Gentlemen , Sit back , Relax and Enjoy the show!
