Hofesh Shechter, ex-bateria, nació y se formó en Jerusalén, en la Escuela de Danza y Musica. Bailó con la Bat-Sheva Company. En 2002 se trasladó al Reino Unido para unirse a la Jasmin Vardimon Company. Colabora con "The Place". Compone la música para sus piezas.
Hofesh Shechter, ex-drummer, was born in Jerusalem where he studied at the School of Music and Dance. He danced with the Bat-Sheva Company. In 2002 he went to England to join the Jasmin Vardimon Co. He has collaborated with "The Place". He composes the music for his dances.

Ultimamente he estado diciendo que todo se ha dicho ya en la danza, y que necesitaremos un par de lustros para reencontrar un nuevo lenguaje,y, aparece Hofesh Shechter. Ha tomado algo de todas las disciplinas de la danza y ha creado un baile realmente moderno, con una estetica muy actual, no solo en los movimientos en sí, sino también en el vestuario: ¡bailaron en calcetines! Con una energia increíble, y totalmente integrados con el estilo de Shechter, los bailarines se movieron a velocidad de cámara lenta y de cámara rapida, hicieron movimientos fluidos y también movimientos bruscos y descuajaringados. Eran sublimes, eran primitivos. Siempre con luces muy dramáticas y coreografías complicadas, pero muy sincronizadas. En "In your rooms" usaron música en vivo. Los músicos, en una tarima colgada del techo en el mismo escenario, ayudaron a crear una atmosfera tenebrista.

Just when I was saying that its all been said and done in dance and that we´ll need a few decades before new things happen, it´s happened! Hofesh Shechter has taken from all disciplines and formed an exciting super new dance vocabulary. The dancers, in socks, with incredible energy, totally integrated with Shechter´s style danced in slow-motion, fast-motion, liquid- motion, jerky- motion, no-motion . They were sublime, they were primitive. Dramatic lighting, complicated choreographies but very synchronised and live music. The musicians, in the piece "In your rooms" were on scaffolding hung from the roof on the stage - it added to the intensity of the atmosphere.
