La "vedette", entrada en años y en carnes, personifica el viejo truco del pathos. Su striptease dedicando cada prenda a un personaje popular español —"esta media es parrrra Pedrrrró", etc— fue muy tierno. El “semental negro” era evidentemente una hipérbole, y su entrada ataviado únicamente con una cola de caballo presenta y compendia claramente la exageración; para terminar con esta comicidad de lo desmesurado, un chico blanco repite los movimientos de su colega negro, sin producir ni de lejos el mismo efecto. Hay referencias irreverentes a la danza y literatura española. Philippe Decouflé, el enfant terrible de la danza francesa, sigue siendo terrrrible. Me encantaron las dos acomodadoras; al principio pensé que eran travestis. El detalle de las tiritas en las rodillas de una de ellas es divertidísimo: ¡claro, como que la pobre pasa mucha tiempo a gatas, recogiendo la vestimienta esparcida por el suelo! —¿se admite “vestimenta” para referirse a tanguitas?-
Música en vivo con un saxofonista-clarinetista-flautista excelente en el espacio maravilloso del Circo Price.
Eso sí, la organización debería haber advertido que el contenido podia herir sensibilidades. Su reclamo publicitario, anunciando danza contemporánea con un poco de circo “y un toque” (!) de striptease no es muy informativo. ¡A eso se le llama quedarse corto!
It's just as well there was a change of plans and the outing turned out to be an "Adults Only" evening because this show certainly wouldn't get GP Rating.
Coeurs Croisés is an erotic fantasy that´s never pornographic because it's done so tongue-in -cheek. It is a parody of bad burlesque. The setting is any sleazy cabaret/ some strip-joint/ third rate vaudeville or music-hall. Philippe Découflé, with great sense of humour, portrays what goes on (and what only went on!) backstage while on the stage, the "artiste" sings/dances or strips. And stripping there is. I don't know if some of the girls are professional strippers or just very good actresses because that's what it is all about- stripping!
The "has-been" chorus girl provides the pathos (her strip where she dedicated each item to a popular Spanish person was very tender-"This stocking is forrrr Pedrrrro" etc.),the "black stud" was hyperbolic, (and when he trotted on as A Stud, the epitome of a metaphor.) His white counterpart, who parodied the movements, added the comic side. There were very irreverent allusions to Spanish dance and literature. Philippe Decouflé, the "enfant terrible" of French Dance, is still "terrrrible."
I loved the two blowsy,horny usherettes whom I thought,at the beginning, were transvestites (and the big plasters on the knees- all that crawling around, picking up items of clothes. Well,if one can call G-strings clothes!)
Live music, with a wonderful sax-clarinet-flute player in the fantastic space of Circo Price.
But, the organisers should have warned people that the show could offend because this was not,as publicised, contemporary dance with a bit of circus and a touch of strip-tease. That's called understatement!
