Cuando vi el programa de Madrid en Danza con ilusión y con ganas de ver un poco de danza —que este año ha habido bien poco—, hice mi lista y, por cuestiones de tiempo (y presupuesto) fui a ver 2 de las 4 que me apetecían.
No voy a quitar valor a los —cada vez mas jóvenes— bailarines de las dos compañías: maravillosos, entregados, muy ensayados. Había algunas secuencias preciosas pero en conjunto... ¡que cansino fue! Los mismos movimientos, los mismos gestos, la misma "no música": susurros, jadeos, platos rompiéndose, discos rayados, violines chirriantes...¡¡ me abuuuuuuurro!! Enlazar palabras no es hacer poesía.Tanta angustia y agresividad, y aunque no me apetecía descifrar las coreografías percibí momentos en que se rozaba el mal trato, tan políticamente incorrecto hoy en dia.
Como hay que elegir, renuncié a Peeping Tom (danza-teatro, prefiero danza-danza) y también a Sharon Fridman (bailarin israeli afincado en Madrid; lo que he visto de el me ha gustado mucho). ¡¡Creo que elegí mal!!
As usual, when I see the programme for the Madrid en Danza Festival, I happily make a list of the companies I want to see. This year because of time (and budget) I saw 2 of the 4 that were on my list.
I´m not going to criticise the (every year they seem to get younger) dancers - beautiful, polished, dedicated. There were some wonderful sequences, but oh, it was all so tedious!! The same movements, the same gestures, the same "no-music": why all this whispering and panting, the sounds of crunching glass, scratched records, screeching violins - borrrrrrrring! Stringing words together doesn't necessarily make poetry! Even though I didn't feel like deciphering the story-line there was so much angst and sometimes it was so aggressive it almost bordered on abuse which is not politically correct these days.
I didn't go see Peeping Tom, a physical theatre company, nor Sharon Fridman, an Israeli born, Madrid-based choreographer whose work I think is wonderful. I sure made the wrong choices!
