Compania Nacional de Danza, "Ven a bailar con nosotros" Teatro de la Zarzuela

Esperaba el metro en el andén cuando me fijé en un póster, en el otro lado. Lo que me llamó la atención fue la ropa, que parecía inspirada en el típico atuendo «jasid». Luego vi que uno de los coreógrafos era Ohad Naharin, que es de mis favoritos, y que los bailarines eran de la C.N.D. No lo dudé por un momento: iba a ser bueno.

Falling Angels, de Kyllian, y Sub, de Galili, fueron dos piezas muy impactantes, con el mismo tipo de música: hipnótica o monótona, dependiendo del gusto de cada uno. Los dos bailes eran muy similares coreográficamente. Sub, interpretada por los chicos, quizá por estar menos ensayada, no alcanzaba la perfección de Falling Angels, a cargo de las chicas. Pero ambas fueron potentísimas, y me hicieron disfrutar con el buen baile, más que concentrarme en detalles críticos.

¡Y Naharin! Dije que es uno de mis favoritos. Minus 16 es una de las piezas más divertidas que he visto en mucho tiempo. No dudo que los bailarines lo pasan bomba haciéndolo.Comenzó con un «solo», que arrancó en el intermedio, con todas las luces todavía encendidas: el público tardó un rato en darse cuenta de que la función se reanudaba. Me encantó la mezcla de música que va desde salsa a canciones folclóricas hebreas. Disfruté con la versión electrónica estridente del Hava Nagila, pieza imprescindible en toda fiesta judía. Y llegados a este punto, tengo que intercalar una breve explicación, para los que no son de «la tribu». Los bailarines lucían la ropa «jasidim», con pantalones y chaquetas negras, camisas blancas, y un típico sombrero negro. Sentados en círculo, bailando con música tradicional hebrea, procedieron a... ¡quitarse la ropa! Empezando por los sombreros y tirándola por el escenario. ¡Fue tan irreverente! Encantador el tierno pas de deux que siguió, con la música del Nisi Dominus, de Vivaldi, y el improvisado baile de salón en el que obligaron a participar al público, danzando con los bailarines... Bueno, a decir verdad, algunos no necesitaron ser obligados.

¡Dije que iba a ser bueno, y lo fue!

I was standing on the platform in the subway, waiting for the train, when the poster on the other side caught my attention. I noticed the "Hassidic" inspired clothes, then looked again and saw that Ohad Naharin, one of my favourite choreographer's, was on the programme and then I saw that it was C.N.D.  I knew without a doubt that it was going to be good.
Kylian´s Falling Angels and Galili's Sub were very similar choreographically, with  the same hypnotic (or monotonous music, depending on one's point of view) with Galili's dance being a boys-only version of a much more polished girls-only Falling Angels but both being very powerful dances! (I went to enjoy some good dancing and didn't feel like criticising.)

 And the Naharin! I said he's one of my favourite choreographer's. Minus 16 was one of the most enjoyable dances I`ve seen in a long time. It was such fun! I'm sure the dancers have a ball doing it! The solo, which starts in the interval with all the lights on, takes the audience a while to realise that the dance has actually started. I loved the mix of music from salsa to traditional Hebrew folk music, loved that super strident electronic version of Hava Nagila (a must at every Jewish function) and here I'm going to explain briefly to the non-members of the Tribe. Seeing the dancers in the typical attire of Hassids - black pants and jacket, the white shirt and the black hat, sitting in a semi-circle dancing to Hebrew folk songs and then slowly chucking off their  clothes, starting with the hats and flinging them across the stage- so irreverent. Loved the tender beautiful pas de deux done to Vivaldi's Nisi Dominus and the unwilling (or willing depending on the person chosen)  "improvised" ball-room dancing, wonderfully choreographied.

I said it was going to be good! It was!
